Roland Garros at IBM7

Well, tennis season is starting again and this time it's Roland Garros, the French Open that's started. IBM is the tournaments techsponsor, so they've set up a miniature centrecourt at their IBM7 sim.

New, and innovating? Not really. I've seen images of Wimbledon and the ABN AMRO tournament (Rotterdam) before in Second Life. But it is good to see IBM is staying tuned to RL.

However, Wimbledon wasnt open for public as far as i remember. And this sim offers a some nice tech things, like the fact that the RL tennisball is tracked and replayed in SL

You're right Raymond! For SL standards it still hi-tech, to show and use real time data in SL. On the eightbar blog (employee from IBM) they posted during Wimbledon good posts and its seems they opened there sims now with Roland Garros.

Good to see interactivity there :)
